Maria ... Born with a wild imagination in Creston BC... and raised in North Vancouver,
Marie was raised with a Catholic, Canadian Italian influence. As a
child she spent many days, day dreaming about playing with Tarzan,
or flying to Mars. She was a story teller at an early age. Before
her 14th birthday, she had built a tree fort, met Queen Elizabeth,
driven her dad's car over the Lions Gate Bridge, served Jack Benny
breakfast where she worked in a Vancouver hotel and was trying to
enlist into the Royal Canadian Navy. At 19 she had legal custody of
a 14 year old runaway and became the youngest guardian of a child
in Canada. Working
with street kids, being an elementary teaching assistant and raising
two perfect children, Dave and Jina, provided lots of opportunities
to express her active creativity. The love for the unknown and possibility
of doing it all, drove her family crazy. She volunteered in her childrens
sports, was a Gilwell Scout Leader and trainer, founded a Girls Club,
Rainbow Stars, met Lady Diana and Prince Charles, raised
money for the Variety Club and was self employed publishing an IC&I
newspaper. Her Langley home was filled with children and known for
Japanese homestay. A high sales achievement award won her a trip to
Germany unleashing her true passion, to travel the world, meet people,
hear their stories, and then tell everyone about it. After years of
life experience, travel and knowledge gained in the school district
and print and publishing industries, Marie has embarked on her next
adventure; touching all the continents. The life long dream of the
small town girl, to meet different people, experience their cultures,
and share their dreams is unravelling while publishing the ESL International Dazzlynn Magazine and this site.
Over the past 20 years students from all over the world have stayed
with Marie as they attended English school and experienced Canadian
culture. Her students call her Momma Maria. Email has provided an
efficient way to stay in touch and learn how everyone is growing and
building their dreams.
Maria is now bringing to print the expression of the future voice.
The International STUDENT. The life of tomorrow.
Maria is always following her dreams... and loves hearing about everyone
else's. Join in the vision, email
us about your experiences and your dreams! |
